Ascent to Cerro Castillo

We will drive for around 1 hour through pampas and forests with amazing mountain views. We will leave the car by an estancia fence, and start walking up Cerro Castillo on cattle tracks and further on, following guanaco paths.

The hill is covered with yellow coirón grasses and little patches of forest. Later we will get to some big vertical rock walls that will have to be avoided by going up a steep rocky slope until reaching the final ridge, which will lead us to the conglomerate rock summit. From the top you will admire the most.

Amazing 360-degree panorama: the incredible views of the Andes, the Torres del Paine mountains, the endless eastern pampas, and at our feet, the huge Lago del Toro of a vibrating blue colour.

The scenery is so vast and majestic that even the soaring condors seem to be enjoying it from above.
