We leave from your hotel in Puerto Natales towards the park. The road offers broad views of the Patagonian steppe, and of several estancias. In many occasions it will be possible to see the spires of Torres del Paine from the distance, getting bigger as we get closer to our destination. We will access the National Park by Laguna Amarga entrance, from where you will be able to see the three huge vertical granite towers.
We will enjoy views of the immense Paine mountains from various angles and will stop at the main look-outs to admire the spectacular landscapes and the lakes of different shades of blue and turquoise. We will also observe native vegetation and wildlife (among these: condors, guanacos, foxes, rheas).
By lake Pehoé we will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view with the Cuernos del Paine in the middle. Then we will drive to lake Grey area to start a one-hour hike through a mature lenga (Southern beech) forest, until reaching the beach from where it is possible to see the blue icebergs that dettach from glacier Grey.
The way back to Puerto Natales is done on a different road, completing a big loop; the area on this side is humid with dense forests. We will stop at the Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument, to visit the famous cave where remains of a giant ground sloth that became extinct over 10,000 years ago were found.
