Milodon Cave Half-Day Tour

This excursion will take you to a beautiful Natural Monument near Puerto Natales, which is of great paleontological value. After a short car ride, we will walk towards the cave through the forest, to explore inside this enormous and amazing cavern. Then we will walk to see the cueva Chica, cueva del Medio, and Silla del Diablo (Devil’s Chair).

Inside all these caves very important paleontological findings have taken place: many remains of the mega fauna that lived in the area, such as the well-known saber-toothed tiger, the giant ground sloth or milodon and many other animals that became extinct over 10,000 years ago. Also evidence of human and pleistocenic fauna contemporaneity was found.

After the hike to the caves you can visit the little museum that illustrates the geological and paleontological aspects of the area, before getting in the car that will drive us back to Puerto Natales.
